The ergonomic locking pin is an essential item for your Xootr. It is the pin that secures your Xootr's steering column to the front of the kickboard when you are using your Xootr and secures your Xootr when folded. The pin is made of steel and has a quick-release button on the end. At the end of the locking pin are two small ball bearings which secure the pin when you are scooting. It is important to avoid leaving your Xootr kick scooter and locking pin in the rain as that can cause the ball bearings to seize-up. It is a good idea to lubricate the button on the end of the locking pin and the ball bearings on the other end with silicon lube or WD40 at least once a month.
